A “Systeme.io course” can mean training about the platform or a course you publish for your own students. This guide focuses on publishing your own lessons. For official free training, use our certification comparison.
Plan the learning outcome
Choose one clear result the student should be able to achieve. Divide it into modules and lectures, then prepare concise lessons and any downloadable materials. A large library is harder to maintain; one useful outcome is easier to explain and test.
If you need to learn the tools first, read the official course comparison or the enrolment walkthrough.
Build and connect your course
- Create the course and its module structure.
- Add your lectures and learning resources.
- Choose the access structure appropriate to your offer.
- Build a sales page and checkout that explain exactly what is included.
- Connect purchase and access settings, then test as a student.
Drip delivery and membership-style access need a clear schedule. Explain when a buyer receives each part and keep the sales page consistent with the actual access settings. A payment plan describes billing; it does not automatically explain lesson release timing.
Check capacity and costs
The free plan includes one hosted course and capacity for 500 students. Startup includes 5 courses, Webinar 20 and Unlimited unlimited courses. Our free-plan checklist helps you plan the first project, and the transaction-fee article distinguishes the platform's 0% fee from processor costs.
Test the full student experience
- Check course visibility and required activation settings.
- Confirm the buyer receives the correct access instructions.
- Open videos and downloads on a phone.
- Check the order form, receipt and relevant links.
- Review any drip schedule and cancellation wording.
Our recommendation
Publish one small course before building a course bundle. Ask whether every lecture helps the promised outcome, and remove repetition. A polished checkout cannot compensate for unclear teaching.
Use the free training page to learn the course builder, then compare annual savings if hosting capacity becomes a real limit.
Organise your online course into modules and lessons
A course builder helps arrange content, but the learning path is your responsibility. Define the result a student should achieve, then divide the online course into modules. Give each lesson one objective, a video or explanation and a practical exercise. Use a consistent naming pattern so students can find their place without guessing.
Use drip content deliberately
Consider drip content when learners need time to practise between lessons. Immediate access suits a reference library or short course. Explain the release schedule before selling, and test the access behaviour with a student account. Do not promise instant access to all modules if the course is configured to release them gradually.
Connect email marketing to the student experience
Your sales funnels can introduce the course, while email marketing answers common questions and prepares the customer for enrolment. After payment, the welcome message should explain how to log in, where to begin and how to request help. Keep the automation simple enough to test. A membership or course bundle should have clear access terms so a buyer understands what is included.
Prepare video and downloadable files
Use readable slides, clear audio and a useful lesson outline. Check that every file opens on mobile and that download links point to the intended resource. A longer video is not automatically better content. Break a complex task into steps, then give the student a short completion checklist.
Launch with a complete customer journey
Before selling, review the landing-page promise, checkout price, confirmation and first lesson together. Check what happens if a student forgets their password or cannot locate the access email. Track questions that repeat and improve the lesson or welcome instructions. An online business grows more sustainably when delivery matches the marketing.
